Well, it's been a long time.. (over 6 months actually)
Thought I'd update the site after it's been so long, to let you know I'm alive and well.
I've been busy doing a sound production course since September.
Some of you may have heard the demos I did for my album, there's 10 of them out there, I don't plan on having anything done proper till next year.
I have so many songs that I just wrote a chorus or verse to, so there are so many I have to finish, they all have to be written in full and then I'll do some rough recordings, then sometime next year I will do proper recordings of them, not until I've got a lot better lyrically, musically and on the production side of things. I think it's a wise decision, as when I started I basically just threw music out there and the production was horrible on those Great Songs. I'm going abroad for Christmas, so I will take that time to have a few nights out and write songs during the days. Last time I went away I think I came up with some really cool songs, "Baby, Answer Your Telephone", "Awkward Sundays" and "Naughty Dance" , so I'm hoping for a bit more of the same this time around. I want to get a bit better with my lyrics though and not seem so obvious with my music style, in the way I use melodies and chords. I was strongly thinking of changing my style a bit, but I think I should stick to what I'm at with the way I make songs for the time being.
There might be some synths and orchestra sounds on the album, I'm looking at around the summer of 2010 for it to be up and online.
Maybe I'll do an EP around March or something, and have the album out in June.
The course I'm doing is taking up a lot of my time though so I rarely get a chance to record much.
As I said there is so many songs I need to finish, and a lot of them have these catchy chorus parts, so I just want to make some really good lyrics for the verses to them. I'm learning the keyboard the same way I did guitar, just by practicing, I don't know if that's the best way of doing it but I suppose I'll get better at it, and I don't really have time for lessons. I'm also gonna try get my vocals spot on for the recordings, yeah, they are my weakest link.
Probably nobody cares about my music anyway but this is my plan for the future, can you guess the song title for one of my new songs in that last line?
